This sculpture forms part of a body of work that Taylor exhibited in 2008 at the Everard Read Gallery in Johannesburg. Its focus is the notion that nothing is permanent and everything is in a constant state of change. While making government public sculpture, he found it ironic that we raise flags and erect monuments to stake our claim and announce our rule in the belief that these will last forever.
